I was privileged to spend Saturday afternoon with a group of radiant women during our Goal Setting Party.  Having goals is a start, but ultimately we want to REACH them!  Here are my five tips for seeing your goals through.


1.      Have goals with you at all times.

If goals are only floating in your head and not written down, consider them a good idea and not really goals.  Get them written down and keep them with you!  Some people carry a small notebook or journal, but the one thing I always have with me…my phone.  Record your goals in your phone so no matter where you are, they’re on you!

2.      Light up inside.

Believe it or not, our brains are smart!  J  They learn what to expect next, and because our brain expects something will happen a certain way, we often achieve exactly what we anticipate. 3.      Read your goals before bed.

Have you ever watched TV or read something just before falling asleep and then dreamed about what you saw or read?  Your subconscious mind stays awake during sleep, in fact, it works best when we are not alert.  Reading your goals each night before falling asleep will allow your subconscious mind to create solutions for achieving what you want.

4.      Develop three actions.

Getting into action and staying in action are imperative.  Write out the three action items you will take care of each day.  These could be as simple as sending an email, reading an article on a topic you’re researching or making a phone call to schedule an interview.  What’s vital is to be consistent – stay in motion!

5.      Arrange for accountability.

Accountability partners provide external motivation when you’re struggling to stay on track.  Set up a weekly check in either via phone or email.  Share your goals for the week and check in with each other.  You could also find someone with similar goals and then work on reaching them together.  Find other women just like you at our next event - The Balancing Act.

None of this is easy, but I know you can do it.  Take the time to write out those goals, get started and stay consistent…you’ll see results!
